Drunken driver hits, kills teen on bicycle, CHP says
Boy died at the scene near Turlock and Dry Creek roads
A 14-year-old boy was struck and killed by an alleged drunk driver Thursday evening in northern Merced County, authorities said.
The boy was hit while riding his bike near West Turlock and Dry Creek roads at 5:35 p.m, according to the CHP.
He died at the scene, said CHP officer Jeremy Key. The boy's name was not released. A four-door maroon PT Cruiser struck the boy.
The driver was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. He was booked into Merced County Jail, according to the CHP. The driver's name was not released.
